Hotels and the cloud: a match made in the stars?

Hotels and resorts are no longer bastions of refuge from technology as guests are expecting more from operators said the speakers at the recent Hotel Technology conference in Singapore's Marina Bay Sands on June 1.

In fact, rather than fight the challenge of technology, many operators said they were embracing the challenge of technology and were striving to find the balance between Return on Investment (ROI) and supply.

According to Richard Hatter the General Manager and Adjunct Associate Professor at Hotel Icon, the world's first teaching hotel based in Hong Kong, said that the use of technology has not merely been solely for the use of guests, but that the hotel had made use of it to go paperless and help drive bookings.
